CPC (Cost-per-click) Advertising
The terms pay-per-click (PPC) and cost-per-click (CPC) are sometimes used interchangeably. Whichever way you use the terms they enable you to list your site at the top of search engine results, by advertising on keywords that best describe your product or service. The higher the bid, the better rank results you will achieve in the search engine result page (SERP).
To further understand the mystery of how this works. You pay only when a potential customer clicks on your ad and connects to your site. You don’t pay to list, you only pay for the click through. In doing this, you only pay for the traffic that comes to your website.
When doing a PPC campaign it can be a very powerful tool to help grow any business. However, it takes time and practice to fully understand PPC/CPC concepts thoroughly. If done wrong a business can quickly burn through their advertising budget with no to very little ROI!
A small business with a tight budget could find that pay-per-click is a better SEO strategy then an organic SEO campaign because a pay-per-click campaign will cost less initially and only if you have really defined your keyword density strategy. Natural SEO and PPC can work together, rather than being an either or option. Natural SEO is something every website should have as it constantly builds the credibility and ranking of your site. Pay-per-click campaigns are an ongoing process in which you must consistently put forth the effort to enhance or you’ll start to see your rankings drop or disappear altogether.
