Organic Search Results and Search Engine Optimization
Organic Search Results are results that appear in searches based on their relevance to the keywords/key phrases used by people doing searches in search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing. They are separate from search results which are advertisements, and they appear just below the paid advertisements that appear in search results.
Because Organic Search Results are not paid advertisements, they become even more competitive in terms of how they are indexed by search engines, and thus they make search engine optimization (SEO) a more important factor when creating content on websites. A website built with a solid SEO foundation will be abundant in pertinent keywords/key phrases, and will be structured with strategic placement of html so that it is easily indexed by search engines. The more content rich solid SEO foundation, the higher up the position in search results following those that are paid advertisements.
Paid advertisements are subtly distinctive in search results, usually by appearing with a different background color, or by being slightly indented at the top of the search results page. Organic Search Results are displayed more generically and appear as black and white text with the usual html clickable link.
Our SEO training classes are focused on these Organic Search Results, as they represent the ability to advertise and/or market your business for free on Google.
