Adobe Flash and Search Engine Optimization
Adobe Flash is the most powerful interactive platform for website design. Flash makes websites fun, Flash makes websites interactive, Flash makes websites fast to download. The problem is the Google is ultimately a text-based search engine, and the Google algorithm struggles to digest Adobe Flash. Very few Flash-based websites succeed on Google.
One common technique is to bury one's head in the sand. To pretend that either Flash can be indexed by Google, or that it is enough to create your website and not worry about its rank on Google. This tactic is marketing suicide. Another is to avoid Flash altogether and remain stuck in the web of the 1990's. For companies whose products are visual - Wedding Photographers, Graphic Designers, Video Gamers, etc. - this is a non-starter.
To make matters worse, Adobe and the Flash community have muddied the waters by claiming that pure Flash can be SEO friendly. One take away from the free SEO webinar on Adobe Flash and SEO will be to realize that something that Google is capable of, is not the same as something that Google prefers.
