What are the SEO issues in terms of 'dynamic' pages URLs?

Question: -
Q: Is one at a disadvantage using dynamic generrated pages that have url format www.mysite.com? id=pagekeyword as the links into the dynamic pages?

Answer: -
The answer can come straight from Google. In the Google SEO Document, it states:

Avoid: • using lengthy URLs with unnecessary parameters and session IDs
• choosing generic page names like "page1.html"
• using excessive keywords like "baseball-cards-baseball-cards-baseballcards. htm"
(page 8)

Basically, Google prefers straightforward, static URL's that contain the keywords. Any time that you introduce dynamic URLs, sessions ID's and the like, you run the risk of 'confusing' Google, creating pseudo duplicate content, etc., and thereby deprecating your results.

Bottom line: create static URL's, at least for those pages that you are targeting for Google / SEO.

Hope this helps!

- Jason
