How frequently should I blog for SEO purposes?

Question: -
Q: If I have a lot of different topics for a blog, should I put out several per day, or space them out over time?
Q: should you alternate blogging and news...i.e. if you don't feel you have enough news to issue a release once a month?

Answer: -
I often compare getting Google / SEO fit with getting physically fit. Just as you wouldn't recommend going to the gym and doing the Stairmaster for one day for 10 hours vs. doing it for 1 hour for ten days, alternating each day, you are better off setting up a blog schedule that you can live with and sticking to it.

Blog daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly - whatever reasonably works for you - and make a commitment to your website and generate these new items on a regular basis. Google rewards living, breathing websites and it tells this by looking at your on page 'new content' and your 'off page' new links. That's why news, in particular, is such a big deal and why it is so important to get your news syndicated using the free services we talked about in class.

So you are better off blogging on a regular schedule than blogging in one big burst and then doing nothing. Consistency is very important to SEO success!

Hope this helps!

- Jason
