When does Google begin to index your domain?
Question: -
Q: I've had a domain name that I've done nothing with, but purchased it to save the name while I develop the site. Obviously I'll be seen by Google as a dead no-change site. Will my SEO be noticed when I start it or should I buy a different domain?
Answer: -
Google will often index a website as soon as it is registered, even if you do not reach out to Google. That said, if the website is dormant, it isn't a big deal. The trick is to post your new content by launching the website for real. Then -
- Register with Google webmaster tools, and submit your XML site map.
- Issue News - issue news on your website and submit via the free or paid syndication services.
- Solicit Links - buzz about your site on the Internet will spur indexing.
Those changes can cause any site to be indexed / reindexed. So don't worry about the age of a dormant website, just start posting content and publicizing it via these methods and you will do fine!
Hope this helps!
