How often does Google update the 'cache?' What does this tell us for Search Engine Marketing (SEM)?

Q: How often does Google update their cache?
Answer: -
On a Google search, of course, the 'cache' copy of a website can usually be viewed by clicking on the link called 'Cached.' What does this tell us? If it is new and frequently updated, you basically know that Google is indexing your website frequently. You can also see some of this data in Webmaster tools.
There is no single answer. Google updates some caches frequently; the trick is to have frequent content, lots of links, and generate incoming news and blog links. Frequent updates are a good thing in more ways than one. Google rewards frequent content, and rewards sites with frequent updates with better rankings.
Checking your cache is just one way to see if Google is indexing your content.
Hope this helps!
