What is Google ranking, and how can I improve my Google SERP rank and/or Google PageRank for SEO?
Question: -
Q: Once you have your Google Ranking, what are the tips to increase it?
Answer: -
OK, first of all some semantics. Google SERP Rank = Google Search Engine Results Page rank, this is where your website shows up on Google for your target keywords. For a particular keyword, such as 'Wedding Florist New York,' are you on Page 1 Pos 1, Page 1 Pos 7, etc.? Google PageRank = this is a measurement of your page 'authority' on a ten point scale. You can download the Google toolbar for a very rough approximation of your Google PageRank.
Now, once you have a good SERP rank or PageRank, what can you do? First of all, if you are on page one for an important search, be careful! If it ain't broke, don't fix it! You can mess up your position just be changing things, so if you are doing well, I would recommend that you not change anything! If you are not doing well, then you need to do all the things I teach in our SEO training class - improve your keyword strategy, weave keywords into your page tags, do link building, etc.
For PageRank, this is a measurement of incoming links. To improve your PageRank (which impacts your Google SERP Rank), you need high quality incoming links. That's what we teach in our link building class.
Hope this helps!
