What is the SEO difference between blogs and news?

Question: -
Q: If you have a blog on your site is the same as News? Does Google rate it the same way?

Answer: -
Blogs and news work hand in hand, but they are different. First, Google does see ALL pages on a website in pretty much the same way. It looks at the tags, the keywords, and the relationship of the page to your home page (not to mention inbound links pointing to your website as well as that page). It doesn't matter if it's a blog post or a news post. Second, Google likes fresh content. So blogging frequently and posting news frequently are both very good for your SEO success. It tells Google your site is 'alive,' and trains Google to come back frequently.

That said, blogs and news are different in some basic ways. Blog posts by nature are more informal and more opinionated. You can say a lot of stuff in a Blog that you wouldn't issue a formal news release about. Secondly, news has syndication opportunities. You can syndicate a news release thru PRWEB.com or PRLOG.org, and there is no functional equivalent for blogs. So news has more syndication opportunities than blogs, which is very powerful.

Hope this helps!
