As for your first question - paid services or tools like Web CEO and Hubspot. I have reviewed Hubspot in detail, but the basic point with these paid tools is that a) they duplicate most of the functionality you can get for free, using free tools, and b) there isn't any real substitute for your own active brain, doing your own SEO. Any tool - free or paid - is just like those machines at the gym. They can be very helpful, but if you don't use them, or don't know how to use them, they are just expensive pieces of metal.
So in our own training, I use exclusively free tools. I am more focused on educating YOU on how to do SEO, then on providing a magic tool that costs money and claims to do it 'for you.' Web CEO and Hubspot either a) can't do it for you, or b) can only do it with you, in which case we are back to square one: using your own brain plus free tools.
As for your second question, as we teach in the class on page tags - different tags have VERY different weights. The TITLE tag is hugely important vs. the ALT attribute for the IMG tag, which is important. It's like playing poker. The TITLE tag is an ACE. The ALT attribute is a deuce. You can use both, but one is vastly more important than the other.
