If page one is my strongest page for a keyword, and I want a different page - what do I do?

Question: -
Q: An unexpected page in my domain is the strongest for a particular keyword. What are some things I can do to increase the rank of another page in my domain for the same keyword?

Answer: -
Your website is like a card deck, and your most powerful page - usually - is your home page. So if you have a different page that is stronger for a keyword, by putting that target keyword on your home page content, and in particular the TITLE tag of the home page, you can usually trump that former page.

In addition, by creating a better format for another page - putting the keyword into the TITLE tag of that page, putting more occurrences of it on that target page, etc., you should be able to elevate the second page. And don't forget internal links. Having a direct link FROM the home page TO the target keyword page will also usually elevate it.

Hope this helps!
