On the Google AdWords Keyword Tool, how do you use the match types?

Question: -
Q: On the keyword tool, is the match type important? Should we keep it as 'broad'? :) Q: Thank you. I meant the match type selection next to the global search volume.

Answer: -
Oh, I'm sorry - I misunderstood your question. The match types on the far right of the free Google keywords tool reflect the match types used in AdWords. For example -

BROAD MATCH: SEO Training = EVERY occurrence of the words SEO Training in any format as in SEO Training Class Boston, Get Seo Training in Houston, Houston SEO Training, Training in Houston SEO, etc.

PHRASE MATCH: "SEO Training" = occurrences of the two words precisely together. Will not catch occurrence where other words are between them.

EXACT MATCH: [SEO Training] = occurrences / searches of only EXACTLY those terms and nothing more.

NEGATIVE MATCH. This is used if a word is a negative for AdWords - i.e., you do NOT want that particular word to trigger your ads.

The use, here, is to 'poll your customers' and get even more detail on how they search for combinations of words - whether exact, phrase, or broad.

Hope this helps!
