What should we do if our customers search on an inaccurate term?

Question: -
Q: what would you suggest we use if the publicly recognized term for our business is professionally inaccurate?

Answer: -
The answer of course is the customer is ALWAYS right. If your customers tend to search on inaccurate terms, misspellings, etc., you do want to reach out to them with your website content.

The trick is how do you maintain your 'brand?' For misspellings, for example, I recommend creating pages that have the misspelling(s) but immediately point out that these are wrong... So you are reaching out on the misspellling but preserving your brand as an 'expert' who knows how to spell correctly.

Similarly, for inaccurate terms... Create content that discusses the terms (heavily) but also points out why they are wrong. In that way, your content reaches out to Google and maintains your brand as an 'expert.'

Hope this helps!
