How does personalized search affect SEO?

Q: when I search from my home computer for videography and where I show i show at the top of free. Do my previoues serches affect what I see again the next time I search the same phrase. It always comes at the top but will others see the same spot.

Probably Google is PERSONALIZING your results. This is a new trend by Google and will only get worse (or better) depending on your perspective. So, make sure you are SIGNED OUT of Google when looking at search results. You want to see the virgin search results that your customer will see, not the personalized results. Second, clear your COOKIES. Third, if possible, reset your IP address to something different as Google even snoops at that level.
Finally, I always check my target searches at other computers (my friends' houses, Stanford where I teach sometimes, Kinko's, the library, conferences)... Get into the total nerd habit of doing your searches and checking to see you show up on page one EVERYWHERE.
