Does the <em> tag impact SEO?
Question: -
Q: does EM mean emphasis or em-dash?
Answer: -
The <em> tag is an older tag that essentially italicizes a word. Putting italics or bold around keyowrds on a page is a mild signal to Google that those keywords are important. Remember, however, that page tags vs. SEO keywords is a hierarchical system. Some tags are MUCH MORE more powerful / important than others, beginning with the page TITLE tag. Then, the A HREF, H1 tags are relevant, followed probably by the ALT attribute for images. The EM, I, STRONG, and B tags are way towards the bottom of the deck.
Hope this helps!
