Is blogspot better than WordPress for search engine optimization?

I'm redoing my ThinkHer.com website, my question is regarding my Blog. Right now I'm using Blogspot.com, is it necessary to switch to WorkPress. Also, on new front page my designer put the Blogspot button under follow us. Is it better to call out BLOG. T

I am not a big fan of blogger for a number of reasons. First and foremost, Google has enough power in this world, so it's better to use WordPress just for competitive reasons. Second, WordPress has a much bigger ecosystem of plug ins and programmers, and you can run on Wordpress.com and also on WordPress.org (download the software for your own server). So if starting a new blog, I definitely am pro-WordPress.
If you are already on blogger, then it's probably fine to use it. It is owned by Google, so it definitely gets indexed. The main thing is to a) blog on your keywords, and b) get inbound links to the blog. Those things drive traffic to the blog. Then use the blog to point traffic and links to your own 'real' website.
