Answer: -
I don't mean to be disrespectul of WIX. They seem like very nice people, and I really respect their mission - to make it EASY for average people to create websites. HOWEVER, and it is a HUGE HOWEVER... MOST of their websites are based on Adobe Flash which is NOT AT ALL Google / SEO friendly, and their NEWER websites are based on HTML5.
HTML5 CAN be SEO friendly if it follows best practices of SEO, namely good tag structure (TITLE tags, META description tags, h1 / h2 tags, A HREF and good link sculpting), as I teach in my SEO courses. BUT it isn't necessarily that way. What I can see by browsing WIX sample sites, are that they are TERRIBLE for SEO and break nearly every single rule.
So the disservice that WIX is doing is tremendous. It is *** NOT *** search engine friendly and if your industry is competitive neither its FLASH choice nor its HTML 5 choices are good options. So I strongly DO NOT recommend WIX.
SEO friendly platforms are a) WordPress, and b) GoDaddy's Website tonight. Both can be relatively easy and because they are built on traditional HTML are much, much better for SEO. Sorry WIX, but that's my review and firmly held professional opinion.
Hope this helps!
